ShoppingScout
Helping people decide where to shop.
Explain the comparison before asking people to use it.
I led UX and UI for ShoppingScout across iOS, Android and responsive web. The surviving mobile work connects a product introduction with guidance for comparing stores.
Store choices bring location, totals and tradeoffs together.
The original mockups show a map, store options, shopping totals and sample savings. They establish the designed experience, not a separate baseline of the product before this work.
The controls need to explain the choice they support.
A map and a list of totals can present information without making the decision clear. The guidance addresses that relationship; no recorded usability finding is supplied with these images.
Start with an optional tour, then explain in context.
The original designs use a dismissible tour invitation and guidance on the store-selection screen. Those are the surviving design decisions; earlier rejected alternatives are not documented here.
Connect introduction, guidance and store selection.
This reconstructed model follows the original quick-tour and store-selection mockups. It does not describe a field-price collection workflow.
- A shopping list
- Store options
- Location context
- 01Offer a quick tour
- 02Explain the comparison
- 03Choose a store
- An understood comparison
- A store choice
The guidance explains the map and totals in the context of choosing a store.
Make the map, options and totals part of one decision.
The wireframes redraw the source flow in the portfolio’s visual language. Their example content is illustrative.
Offer an explanation with a clear way out
Explain the choice using the screen itself
Keep each total beside its store
Reconstructed from the original LinkedIn tour and store-selection presentation mockups; labels and sample options are illustrative.
Keep the store and the total together.
A clear way to dismiss the tour keeps the introduction optional. The comparison places the store options beside their totals, with the map providing location context.
Original mockups establish the design, not its effectiveness.
No study results accompany these recovered images. The next useful check would test whether people understand the totals and can explain why they would choose one store over another.
A documented cross-platform design contribution.
The archive supports my UX, UI and creative-direction work across the mobile apps and responsive web. Sample prices and savings in the artwork are interface content, not measured customer outcomes.
